1, added auto start recording after writing problem happened;
2, set the default VIDEO QUALITY to FINE which make the bit rate lower
to make sure the lower speed card works on 0806
3, solve the image flip problem after 180degree rotate under 1080P HDR
will add GPS signal counter in next version
1, added half time zone for special country
2, updated firmware time from Jan.04.V06 (Apr.26)
1, manual set to card A, but return to B after reboot - solved
2, added "reset setting" after firmware upgrading, suggest to reset
3, power on with low battery, the camera will alarm long time and not record - solved
4, if LOW SPEED CARD, camera stop recording - change to record again after buffer
5, when card full, can't switch to another card - improved
6, change default player to RV
for test purpose
1, improved card switching
2, removed Parking Guard menu provisionally. (which caused some battery flating problem)
3, added half Time Zone
4, updated the button defination on some interface.

For those that want modified bitrates but don't want to create their own firmware:Download
(install at your own risk making sure the camera has external power during installation, and report your findings...)
This has been tested on my mini 0806 using a Samsung Pro memory card. If you live somewhere hot or use slow speed memory cards then either do some testing yourself or stick to the standard firmware.
Modifications from 0806firmware-150323:
- Startup and shutdown screens. (so you don't forget which version you are using)
- 2560x1080 30fps Superfine 24Mb/s, 5 hours/64GB
- 2560x1080 30fps Fine 12Mb/s, 11 hours/64GB
- 2560x1080 30fps Normal 2Mb/s, 60 hours/64GB (2.5 days) (1 weekend)
- 1920x1080 45fps Superfine 24Mb/s, 5 hours/64GB
- 1920x1080 45fps Fine 12Mb/s, 11 hours/64GB
- 1920x1080 45fps Normal 6Mb/s, 22 hours/64GB
- 1280x720 60fps Superfine 24Mb/s, 5 hours/64GB
- 1280x720 60fps Fine 12Mb/s, 11 hours/64GB
- 1280x720 60fps Normal 6Mb/s, 22 hours/64GB
- 1280x720 30fps Superfine 16Mb/s, 8 hours/64GB
- 1280x720 30fps Fine 4Mb/s, 31 hours/64GB
- 1280x720 30fps Normal 1Mb/s, 125 hours/64GB (5.2 days)
The most interesting of those are:2560x1080 30fps Superfine
This is the best quality and highest resolution mode.
It is limited to 24mb/s because I don't want my 64GB card to last less than 5 hours! Going higher isn't going to make much noticeable improvement to the image anyway and may decrease battery life due to extra heat.
Although it does get warmer than the lowest bitrate mode (720 Normal), my IR thermometer says it is only 2 degrees C warmer so not really worth worrying about! The processor and sensor are processing the full size image anyway, it's just the amount written to the memory card that changes.
Image Quality is a little better than standard, the biggest difference is that it doesn't loose quality in poor conditions when the standard version would significantly drop the bitrate and sometimes turn the vegetation mushy.
It also always updates the image background at a decent rate where the standard version can reduce the effective frame rate on parts of the image which are not changing much to maybe only 3fps under some conditions.2560x1080 30fps Fine
This is my hot weather mode. The IR thermometer suggests that it runs only about 1 degree C cooler so maybe not worth using, but maybe it makes more difference in mid summer sunshine?
Alternatively it can be used for long trips as it will record for 11 hours instead of just 5 hours before looping.2560x1080 30fps Normal
This is my parking mode, it will record all weekend at full resolution, or several hours without overwriting much of what you already have on your card. Obviously at reduced quality compared to superfine.1920x1080 45fps Superfine
This is for the racetrack, high frame rate and high quality.1280x720 60fps Superfine
Not sure why 60fps is needed, but if you are going to use it for quality then it might as well have a high bitrate mode.1280x720 30fps Normal
This is the lowest bitrate mode, the quality is very poor but if you want to set the camera up for surveillance of a room to record unattended for 5 days/64GB then it will allow people to be recognised and see what they are doing even if license plates would be completely unreadable.

If your mini 0806 camera are dead after upgrade, please follow the below to recover.download here
1, Extract the archive you have just downloaded,
2, Hold the UP button of mini 0806 and plug mini 0806 in to PC, it should make a sound to say new hardware plugged in, or an unknown device appears in device manager, (If it doesn't, unplug device and hold power button for 20 seconds till light goes out and plug back in) on windows 7 manually install the drivers, point to the folder you have just extracted, then go to DirectUSB/Drivers. if it doesn't work, please re-check the cable connection.
3, Let it install, then install the C++ distribution packs for your OS.
4, Run Direct USB
5, Click connect, make sure it detects device and says init dram ok.
6, Select relevant firmware file under firmware, then click Download, it should all go smoothly, this process is quite quick, as soon as it stops doing the flash it will show a full green bar and OK.
7, Unplug mini 0806, hold power till LED light goes off, then turn it on and it should boot up...references:
1, change default setting GPS STAMPING = LOG ONLY
2, correct the MPH value, which was KMH value when set the SPEED STAMPING to MPH
3, update text DRIVER NUMBER STAMP to DRIVER NUMBER STAMPING
4, auto switch GPS STAMPING to LOG ONLY when user set the STAMPING to KMH or MPH, if the GPS STAMPING was OFF
4, improve the codes for GPS icon showing delay. (this need to be wide tested.)
Any result or suggestion will be appericated.
1, power indicator will be light when external power input;
2, Rotate Image 180degree problem will occur on HDR 1080P mode. working on this with Ambarella engineers.
3, hold OK button to take photo, this can only be done on 1080P or 720P mode now. working on this with Ambarella engineers.
4, added "0806" before firmware version, for easier firmware identification when users need an upgrade.
5, add "AV-OUT" setting between "PARKING GUARD" and "GREEN INDICATOR", as a switch of AV-OUT. (AV-OUT will consume power, so it is recommended to switch it off if you don't need to output AV signal.) (Please reboot the camera to make AV-OUT take effect.)
mini0806 firmware updated before 2015 New Year's Day!
1, reworked the alternate recording function of card A and card B.
2, updated the menu list according manual.
3, closed Parking Guard function, will re-open this with the Parking Guard Mount.
4, UI adjustment.
This firmware is a milestone for Dual Card Camera.
There must be some slight bugs in the cards alternate recording; your feedback will be apperacited!
HAPPY NEW YEAR 2015 !
